Caravaggio

The story behind the image:

Caravaggio is my favourite artist. His paintings are infused with a sense of tension, achieved through his masterful application of chiaroscuro (the technical term for the interplay of light and shadow in a painting).

This image reminds me of him - there’s something especially pleasing about the arrangement of the foliage in the background. The darkness suggests a drama that might be unleashed at any moment on the unsuspecting prey just beyond our view.

I think he would have liked this.
