Because I love to teach

Often when I’m out with my camera people approach me with questions and it turns into an impromptu lesson because I genuinely love to share everything I know with anyone who’ll listen.

I have been teaching photography (officially) for 10 years. That all started when I was a patient at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dun Laoghaire. I was there for four months and the lessons just evolved as something to do in the evenings with my fellow patients when our rehab was over for the day. I’ve been involved with the hospital ever since, teaching classes and collaborating on photo projects, competitions and exhibitions.

I’ve witnessed first hand how discovering an interest in photography can bring people back from the brink and change the course of their lives. To have played a small part in that transition for another person is an honour and a privilege.

I especially love working with kids so if your son or daughter has a camera and an interest I’d be delighted to chat with them. They can contact me anytime - I will ALWAYS make time for kids who want to learn.
